Sources date back to the origins of the Tacco family in the 13th century. According to these sources, the Tacco family came from Tuscany and originated from the notorious Ghino di Tacco, who was born in Siena and mentioned in Dante’s Divine Comedy (Purgatory Chapter IV).
On 17th July 1596, Andrea Tacco was raised to the nobility for having distinguished himself in the war against the Turks in 1596.
In the 17th century, the Tacco family obtained the land title for San Floriano. The last male heir Ghino di Tacco, father of the current owner, died in 1914.
